In August 2020 the official farewell of the long-time colleagues took place in a small circle at ELABO GmbH. Werner Hopf, Wolfgang Hofmann and Erich Weiss were bid farewell by the management and their former team leaders. Over a glass of sparkling wine, they revelled together in memories and exchanged anecdotes from the past decades.
Werner Hopf has left ELABO after almost 41 years. When he joined the company in August 1979, he was one of the first employees. With him a very committed colleague left the company. He was a member of the works council since 2002, and from 2011 he also took over the representation of severely disabled employees. Since 2001 he was also a first-aider on the side. Over the years, he brought numerous suggestions and ideas to the company and was thus significantly involved in the introduction and development of power supply units at ELABO. Thus he enriched the test field until his retirement as an electromechanic.
Together with Mr. Hopf, also Wolfgang Hofmann was retired. The passionate soccer referee was employed from June 1999, first in the shipping department and since 2008 in the incoming goods department and warehouse. Over the many years, his colleagues have always appreciated him as a reliable, undemanding and friendly employee who was happy to take on all the work assigned to him - even the unpleasant ones. As a "man for everything" Mr. Hofmann leaves a big gap in his team and in the company.
Erich Weiss also retired from ELABO in May. In August 1995, he started his career at ELABO as an electronics engineer in the electrical production for automated measuring and testing systems. With a short interruption, he too was employed by the company for a total of 21 years. He not only enriched his team with his determined, independent and responsible way of working, but also contributed to a good working atmosphere outside working hours – occasionally with a home-brewed Heufelwindener after-work beer.
With our colleagues, three very motivated and committed employees are leaving the company. The entire team at ELABO GmbH wishes the three all the best for their retirement and, first and foremost, good health.
