The Alliance Industry 4.0 is an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg and repeatedly awards companies for exemplary innovative industry 4.0 solutions. ELABO has already received the award twice in the past. Within the framework of the series of events "Experience 100 Places Live! winners of the competition regularly present their solutions. The aim is to make industry 4.0 more tangible by means of concrete examples. Participants will thus have the opportunity to get in touch with experts and exchange ideas on topics from the field of Industry 4.0.
On 23 October 2019, ELABO hosted an event focusing on "Increasing Efficiency in Manufactory 4.0". Numerous guests from business, politics, research and education took part. During the event, Thomas Hösle, Managing Director of ELABO GmbH, introduced the company and its development into a digitized company. He illustrated which new business models ELABO is using to prepare itself for digital change and explained the hurdles ELABO is facing using concrete examples. Enrico Franz, Business Development Manager, then presented the "Factory in a Suitcase", which was awarded in 2018 and made ELABO the first prize-winner to receive two awards.
Divided into two groups, the participants were able to get a concrete idea of the ELABO solutions. Horst Maywald, Senior Advisor at ELABO, and Dietmar Striffler, Chief Digital Officer, presented ELABO's innovative solutions during guided tours of the ELABO Innovation Center and the Smart Factory Learning Factory. ELABO received an award for the Smart Factory Learning Factory in 2015.

Guest speaker Dr.-Ing. Moritz Hämmerle from Fraunhofer IAO then spoke about the working world of the future and the research of the institute. Under the headline "Industry 4.0 and Enterprise Organization - How Digital Transformation Works" he spoke about the challenges of implementing application cases in the smart factory and gave practical implementation tips.
Together with the Fraunhofer IAO, ELABO is already researching tomorrow's world of work today. This is how the "Molecular Workplace" was created - the workplace of the future.
